In Rwanda and across East Africa, the rental market has traditionally been fragmented, opaque and stressful for both landlords and tenants. Finding a property meant endless phone calls, unreliable listings and no visibility into the process.
HausLink changes that by bringing the entire rental journey — from discovery to payment — onto one trusted, easy-to-use platform.

How HausLink came to be
The Problem Identified
Our founder experienced firsthand the frustration of finding rental properties in Kigali. Listings were scattered across WhatsApp groups, social media and unreliable websites. There was no single trusted platform for the Rwandan rental market.
Research & Planning
Six months of research interviewing over 100 landlords and tenants across Kigali, Huye and Musanze. The same problems kept surfacing — lack of transparency, no secure payments, poor communication tools, and no maintenance tracking.
Building HausLink
Development began on a platform built specifically for Rwanda and East Africa — with MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, local property categories and bilingual support from day one.
Launch
HausLink launched in Kigali with its first 50 verified landlords and 200 properties. Within 3 months the platform had connected over 150 landlords with 300 tenants across Rwanda.
Growing Across East Africa
HausLink now serves landlords and tenants in Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya with plans to expand across the continent. Our mission remains the same — make renting simple, safe and transparent for everyone.
